I was thinking about getting a kit for the 150gy6 I swapped onto my taotao. It's pretty peppy right now. But why not have more lol. I was thinking maybe keep it stock for the reliability. But I'm not sure how tough the 150 cranks are. Anyone know what size bbk they make? What's the most reliable one?

You can't get far with just a bolt on kit for the standard GY6 150. They go to 58.5 or 59mm bore and that's only about 155cc. The cases can be bored to go larger, or you can buy bored cases, and that can get to around 180cc. The GY6-B engines use different stud spacing and can end up over 230cc when bored and stroked. The big engines get more expensive than they're worth IMO, unless you want to build it just for kicks. I saw a Kymco 250 with low miles in great condition locally for half the cost of a big bore stroker build and realized that I'd rather just find a bigger scooter... but for me the larger scooter was about being on the highway and being able to travel so it's a little different if you just want to drag race the other scooters in your town.

Maybe get a performance camshaft for it. Iv already upjetted. Running a nice cai and straight pipe. It surprises a lot of people when they see a little taotao with 10" rims cruising at 50mph.

jaga4life Here is a drop in kit from Naraku, it will increase displacement to 155cc. The piston is higher compression than stock and forged. More compression=more power. I mean if your going to swap the cam, might as well drop in a cylinder kit

as with 90gtvert said, most gy6-a cases can only support up to the 58.5mm BBK, but then you get odd balls like mine that have a 65mm case opening for the cylinder sleeve. which means if i got a 61mm BBK i could just bolt it on and have around 170cc engine.
