Several years back I picked up a 08 Zuma in pretty ratty condition and fixed it up a bit. I replaced the plastic that was real bad, and installed a decent quality mild 70cc kit, and a side stand since the mount for the center stand was broken. After riding it for a while I decided I didn't really care for the Zuma, just not enough legroom for me. I ended up giving it to my buddies boss in return for him letting me use their warehouse for my scooter addiction.
Last September I moved out of their warehouse and got my own warehouse I have dubbed Scootopia.
Not long ago I found out that the Zuma was hardly ever ridden and had not even been started in a couple years. Longer story cut short, I asked if he wanted me to get it out of his way and he said yes, so I picked it up yesterday evening.
All I had to do was freshen up the gas, and clean the carb, which was full of 2t oil and it fired right up. I rode it around a good bit last night, the zumas sure do ride nice, but I just dont like the way they seem to pitch me forward and the lack of legroom. Anyway I may do some more work on it eventually, to see if I can make it more comfortable, and a bit faster. Top speed currently 40 mph.

Nice story, Ive thought about the 2t Zuma as a possible next purchase. They're great scoots and damn near indestructible. Like Old Geek mentioned, they can be a bit cramped for taller riders (I'm 6'3" 230 lbs), but you get used to them. In stock form they are gutless, but that's the beauty of 2 strokes; they can be screamers for just a little bit of money.

Sounds like with a pipe, a set of foot pegs, and maybe some new hbars, you'd be good to go. I guess gears too perhaps. OK, might as well add n OR kit while you're at it. A carb wouldn't hurt. Maybe some reeds and...

Fast forward. This Zuma came back to me again. The bud I sold it to didn't ride it much at all. It has not moved from in front of his hotel for over a year. Told me to pick it up, he was tired of looking at it. It sat a block off of the ocean for the last couple years, so it has a bit of rust now. I just dont know what to do with it now. I aired up the tyres, drained the oil from the carb, and kicked and kicked till it fired up. Took a short ride down the block, nothing's changed it's still a Zuma.

You can't escape it. It's your destiny to ride a Zuma. 😁 That is one ugly number plate holder! It's huge. Poor design Yamaha.

Are you going to keep it for another project or just sell it? Bring it up here and you’ll turn a pretty penny out of it.

There is no title for it (titles not needed in SC)
I could register it and ride it, but I dont need it. Might part it out, that should end the madness!
Do the zuma motors have room for 100cc stuff?

You can fit a stroker crank. I think Autotech used to have a stroker kit with smaller crank wheels for ease of install.

I might be interested in some odds and ends if you’re going to part it out...

. Just give it some love, shave the hump off the seat to make it comfy, and add some go fast bits (mxs 70) 😈🍿 it's like a puppy that keeps following you home, you find it another home but it just keeps coming back to you because it loves you, and now you want to kill it and sell the meat!?!? Tisk tisk
