I recently bought this yamaha jog 2007 R second hand for €350 with a stuck cylinder, seller said this was the only problem, however i have changed the cylinder, to a 49 and a new piston. And the bike still doesnt kick start, ive changed gasoline bought a new spark plug.
Whenever i kick it it sounds weird, you cant hear the original 'bop bop bop' more like just the metal bits rolling, almost as if it has no compression but im not sure.
Does anyone know what it could possible be? Will post video soon of the kickstart and bike.

olexesh,have you replaced the cyl with a stock size kit or BBK? the standard piston is about 40mm in dia.You might have to rebuild it to check the following,the crank turns freely, no side to side play in the con red and that the piston is fitted the right way up, the arrow on the piston points down towards the exhaust and the "windows" towards the carb.

How about checking spark, trying to add fuel, and checking compression with a tester? You can try to rotate the engine by hand and if it has pretty much no resistance you likely have a compression issue, but a tester gives a better answer.
You said you changed gasoline, but did you clean the carb too? If the gas was old, it may need that.

Carburettor was fully clean, i changed the gas, i can however kickstart with hand and thats not too hard.. so it might be a compression problem then. Spark works perfect

I can "kickstart" my 49ccs by hand too. Try turning them in some way that you don't get a lot of leverage or mechanical advantage... like turning the cooling fan or the variator directly. Turn slowly and make sure the ignition is disabled. That way you may get a better feel for it. Compression testing is still the best though. I've had them fool me by trying to tell by hand because some engines don't have real strong resistance.

Yeah the cooling fan is really easy to turn over with 1 hand, ive also noticed that theres no fuel going into engine, ive already changed carb but it still has the same problem..

olexesh,try sucking on the vacuum pipe to test the petcock fuel should run out of the feed pipe if all is well,there is a "hidden" filter on top of the petcock that needs checking. geoff
