I was out riding my tgb which I had just put 6 7gr rollers in, trying to get rpms up. I got this thing running pretty good now with stock air box 3 holes drilled, 85 mj needle is is second from richest position in a 17mm keihin clone jog carb. I tried and tried to tune this thing with the 90 or 95 mj but couldn't get it right. I just always thought 90 would be minimum on a malossi sport 70 cyl with tecnigas pipe. Anyway with the 7gr rollers this bike really shoots off( well a little lag but I'm sure it's just because of the stock clutch springs) it pulls strong all the way to 45 which is when I backed it down and pulled over. I could here it just idle down and die.it was after I stopped and it wasn't fast maybe 5 sec.
Why would it only do this directly after a wot run? Is it super lean when I close the throttle right after running that hard maybe super rich? Anything will help guys thanks. Does anyone know someone besides whidbeyislandmoped that has clutch springs for the stock clutch on these?
P.s. I'm selling my tgb if anyone on here is in md or adjoining states and is interested.

Could be several things. My gut says lean. I always start large with jetting and do plug chops. A CHT gauge would be ideal if you think you are seizing. Possible fuel starvation. Dirty carb. A/F screw needs adjusting & idle screw.(stalls)
Are you premixing ? If not you might be shy on oil if injecting with larger cyl.
I think the clutch spring kit is Malossi M.2913851. Heavier clutch spring will help get your rpm's higher on take-offs and help with the lag you mentioned.

In a hurry so have only skimmed background, slow death on wot after a while can be that the float bowl dont get fuel quick enough. Illustration: Say bowl can hold 10 cl, you consume 2 cl/second and inlet from gas tank is 1cl/seconds. That means after 10 seconds float bowl is dry and cant feed scoot. Numbers just made up.
Try: Look for kinked or squashed fuel line running from gas tank to carb, or fuel filter clogged. If you try open fuel line into a bottle, it should have quite a flow. Same as if you had a hole the same size in a bottle full of water - ie unrestricted. If you have vacuum operated pet cock, you open it by suck on the vacuum hose - it is the narrow one going along the fuel line between carb and tank. Remove it on the carb side and suck it!
