Thinking about buying a thing called a Rockit key, goes in place of the woodruff key and advances the timing exactly 10 degrees. I've read a few threads that said you can get more power from doing this. Should I do this? And are there any drawbacks to doing this?

Performance increase? Yes if your ignition timing, is not in its the most effective curve or base setting. Some CDI box's give advance some give retard. Some give a small degree some are adjustable. I check the OEM timing at a few different RPM. You can file the slots in the Stator. This would allow it to " rotate into normal rotation ". This way you can adjust it, anywhere along the slot. You are not stuck to a set amount of advance, or retard. (you can install & use it either way). Example: My bone stock 50cc Zuma worked the best with 5* + advance, re-jet and the throttle Mod. My 70cc Stage 6 Streetrace & S-6 Pro-Pipe (Expansion Pipe). Same motor, different Cylinder Kit, it liked, 5 degrees of retard on a OEM CDI. So you Still have to tune to get the most from your setup. 10* advance sounds like a lot of advanc, IMO. To much advance can cause Detonation. Detonation will kill your Piston in a short amount of time. Why, because Ignition timing will effect combustion chamber temperatures. How, by affecting burn-time and more importantly where it occurs in Rotation. The piston gets the brunt of the offence. The temps and pressures are enough to blow-out the thin section on the piston crown. If you are lucky you will hear it or like my self, I could feel it on deceleration. Wikipidia does an, Excellent Job explaining this: link

You can do the same thing, and more, for free. The catch is, you have to be careful and should actually check your timing so you don't go too far.

My Hyosung Prima came with a slotted stator to do just that.
I was sure to mark it before Pulled it so it would go back where it belonged.
