I'm putting on a new bbk and have done most of the prep work to the cylinder. Was reading about gaining power by widening the exhaust port. Can I do this without messing up my cylinder?

Sure it's easy enough to do with files or a dremel. 68% +/- cord width of bore would make for a happy scoot. But you don't need to go that far. Chamfer the port edges when your done and wash the cylinder.

What's the chord width of my bore?

Chord width is the diameter of bore, 68% is just about 32mm on a 47mm bore.

Comparison of what 32mm looks like on a 47 bore. Right is just stock.
