Oh also just was looking at the carb. And noticed dew on it and the carb was cold. I was just running it for an hour and i have never seen that b4 with other carbs. What could be causing that? this is actually a common phenomenon. just like when you release any gas that is under pressure it will get cold. some carbs actually incorporate an electric heater or allow coolant to run through the carb on liquid cooled motors to address this problem.

sometimes its etched on the jet. if there are no markings you just kinda have to guess. or ask the vendor you got the carb from what size jets come with it. honestly 38 is what I have seen in carbs from 50cc all the way to 250cc scooters. but I have also seen 32 and 45. I would try to find a kit that has various sizes between those two numbers.

Didnt see any etchings on my other carb so i dont know haha. Could i just order a bigger size? Or should i try another jet from a carb i knew worked? The only reason i got a new carb was the throttle tube that goes to the carb the screw that holds it down broke

if you take the jet out of the old carb and hold it next to the one from the new carb. you should be able to look through them and see which one is bigger. if the old one is bigger give it a go and see if it fixes your problem. if its the same size or smaller, you will need to order new jets.

But wouldn't putting tape in my intake could possibly get sucked into my engine??

These jets are real small. It's tough to tell something like a 17.5 from a 20 (0.175mm vs 0.2mm or basically 1 thousandth of an inch difference). It shouldn't take that long to try a different jet to be sure if it helps or not. But wouldn't putting tape in my intake could possibly get sucked into my engine?? I wouldn't advise using tape as anything more than a tuning aid or in case of emergency, so to speak. You can use it just to find out if a richer mixture does the trick. It shouldn't get sucked in, because you should have a filter element in the airbox (assuming you mean taping the inlet of the airbox, not actually taping inside of the box post-filter). Worst case would likely be that it went into the airbox and got stuck on the filter so you'd have to take the box apart to remove it. Well, I guess worst case would be more like the tape flies off and you get pulled over for littering, but you don't see the lights at first so you get tazed and a felony evasion charge, and then you get thrown into the cell with a lonely 7ft tall fellow. That one's probably not too likely though. I wouldn't worry about any tuning till I was confident that the airbox was sealed where it needs to be and secure. Could be that the damaged airbox leaks more or less at times, maybe from flexing or something along those lines. You'll never have a good tune for long if the airflow is changing.

What should i do lol the bike runs enough to ride but its not reliable. Bike use to run fantastic. I just ordered a new pet cock and maybe that will do the trick but the old one is only a year old.

Anyone see the video? What should i do or where can i go with it. I swapped differnt.jets in from an old carb i knew worked fine and nothing. And.also my airbox worked just fine on my.old carbs it hasn't gotten any worse then where its at. I cannot find a replacement airbox so how difficult from where i am now to just go pod filter.

check for air leaks. take a can of WD40 or an unlit propane torch and spray around all the joints. So intake manifold to head, spray there. Carb to intake manifold, spray there, and any other place where there is a join. Do this with the engine running. If the RPM's change or it stalls then youve an air leak there, which is leaning out the mixture. You could also try putting tape over the carb air intake to limit the airflow to richen the mixture. However before you do this, remnove the spark plug and take a photo of the end where it sparks and post it here. We can then tell if it is running too lean or too rich. Rich is a black plug, Lean is a white plug, and ideal is like the colour of a cup of tea.

If it runs with the screw all the way out then your pilot jet is to big and causing a really rich condition. Like Edward said check the plug, it will be a really good clue.
