Pretty much the only spring I use is a yellow Malossi. If I have a torque drive that is old and won't shift right even after servicing, then I will use the really soft pink Stage6. Switching to the yellow spring will more than likely cause you to have to use different roller weights, but like I mentioned earlier that the zx-r likes the lighter weights and so if you use 4.3 gram rollers, yellow contra and yellow clutch springs then it should work.
You ever figure out what cylinder is on there? Is it aluminum, or cast iron?

Also jets and what brand phbg would help. If it's a clone carb it may be tough to get tuned right. If you haven't changed jets then you need to. Put on a stock airbox, it'll help quite a bit.

I am running a PHBG 19mm on a tuned 49cc, but a very different pipe and variator. My current setup is a 92 main, (airbox) a #50 pilot and a W6 needle. My pipe has most power in mid-range...peaks about 10,200 rpm. My variator tuning won't compare, until I install the new CVT. The OEM Gyro's are 2 speed setups, nearly like a regular CVT, but not.
