well the DOT is upgrading all the traffic lights around here, with sensor loops, the issue is the scooter won't trigger any of them, I've been told by a local DOT engineer, that nothing much under a full size harley will trigger them, so anyone on a scooter or a sport bike, is pretty much screwed without a car to trigger the light, the four lane at night, with no traffic, there is already no way to cross it, if you turn left or right, you end up at a turn lane with another dam traffic loop, then you are stuck with no where to go , this is complete BS, the magnet trick won't work, never has worked, unless you wave it over the sensor. then it MIGHT work,

Iv seen some vids where they have installed neodymium magnets on the bottom of the scooter and that triggered the light change. Not sure if that will work in this case.

they refuse to pass it in Georgia, the insurance companies are blocking it, meanwhile the DOT continues to add sensor intersections that won't recognize smaller vehicles

We also have a no helmet law (after 21) that I don't understand.

in Indiana if you are on a bike, you can proceed on red if you are the only one waiting at the light and you have waited for at least 2 minutes. then the light can be regarded as a stop sign.

I put a "green light trigger" (strong magnet) under one of my scoots many years ago. It's still there. I found that most of the time it did not work for me, but there were a couple of lights that I could never get to change that would change with the big magnet in place.
When I got really tired of needing to run red lights late at night, I contacted local officials and reported the intersections that I could not get to change with any tricks.
They installed red light cameras in those intersections and fined me.
Kidding. Someone got back to me and said they could change the sensitivity and it should work. It wasn't long before those lights would change for me.

I actually called the DOT, it's now every road that crosses the bypass, and I was told there is nothing they can do, basically tough shit , federal law actually requires every light recognize any motor vehicle, including motorcycles and scooters

In NC, a law permits right turns after x minutes of no response by the light to a vehicle. I think it is 2, but right on red after stop is legal here.

That electronic device on Ebay may work but you may need to increase the number of turns in the signal wire if it is not strong enough. I have been doing something like that Georgia link; www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/20152016/152342.pdfFor many years. I stop, and go/turn when safe to do so, just as if there wasn't a stupid signal light installed. The only thing I worry about is some other idiot following me through a red light.
