Hello fellow enthusiasts, So I've got a kymco 50 2t motor that I rescued from the scrapyard, (not my first 2t setup) I freaking love this thing, Extra long case to fit 14in rims ,taiwanese quality, its a great engine, Current mods: delorto phbg with 108 main, race intake, malossi pod filter,malossi70cc bbk, naraku variation drive plate, rev limit wire on cdi cut, prodigy variation, dr pulley 8g sliders, Kevlar, prodigy clutch, torsion controller, yellow main and big spring, Leo Vince tt,.
Now the problems. Bogs on take off, chewed thru 3 sets of sliders in 200 miles, chewed up 1 malossi bbl cylinder and piston and air/idle mix screws only turns 1 1/2 times when starting at bottom of threads.
Top speed flatland is 49mph.
I want more top and bottom out of this motor, is a 90 or 110 cc possible on this motor? If it is, and can be done for und,er $500 any and all help and advise ie: parts resources, tech and spec info would and will be treasured.
Thanks

Sounds to me like your crank has some play in it causing excessive vibration on both the piston and variator? Just my thoughts... Take your variator off and see if you can wiggle the crankshaft. If it has any play in it up and down or back and forth you have some crankshaft issues.

Thanks gsx600 and Honda4 for your replies, other than adding 1oz of 2t oil at every fill up, I use the stock oil pump for my fuel/oil mix. Opened the trans and checked for play in crankcase, none found. And did this with cylinder head on and off. Also referring to the original post. I can still use any and all info on a 90cc AC set up for kymco? Thanx guys and gals

I am new to the premix but if you add oil to gas doesn't that actually make it a leaner mix? I think I read that in one of Brent's posts around here..? What the heck is eating your sliders for breakfast? I was thinking it was play in the crank. Did you find anything else while you were in there that was odd looking?

I'd tear down the whole CVT and clean and inspect it. Sliders usually last a really long time. Look everything over carefully. Something has to be wrong for sliders to be ruined that often. And to honda4life; yes, adding oil does lean the air/fuel ratio a little. If you add say 1% extra oil to the fuel, that means 1% less fuel is getting into the engine with the same jet.

So variation is good for the last 150+ miles, tore everything down in the vary case nothing looks out of place . Cleaned drive plate, ramps, rollers, drive boss, clutch, bell, lubes what need it and put it all back together. Ive got a malossi kit on order, to get it running again. But id really like to put a 90cc set up instead of the 70. heres the problem, when I search for parts, which I have done extensively. Everything for kymco is always 40% or more in price than most other makes. Can't afford it so hoping to find an interchange or anything comparable with minor to mid modifying to fit. Will be switching to premix full time, so can u recommend a carb jetting starting point oe 102, 100,98?? Thanks for all the info and replies
