I've made my wife and kids learn to ride scooters and like it. (I'm exaggerating. They didn't need to be forced)
And I've been working on my granddaughter for a few months now. She's only seven years old so I can't put her on a real scooter. So I bought her a little electric scooter. I'm sure you've all seen them. They're really just a toy. But the do have the legal status of a bicycle. So that means we can ride together in the neighborhood.
So this evening on our ride I pulled out the camera in order to get a pic for my Mom. My granddaughter smiled quite nicely until I pulled the trigger. Then she scowled. So I made her sit for another pic. That one turned out fine and that's the one I sent to family.
But I manged to have a look at the 'scowl' pic. And it.....actually......turned out pretty good.
I'm reminded of this:

Start them young and they will have the joy of two wheels for life.

Start them young and they will have the joy of two wheels for life. Exactly why I bought her a scooter.
I failed to teach my wife and children that they don't actually need to be slaves to the automobile. I"m gonna remedy that with the next generation.
(To be fair, though, my wife and kids have made some progress on this issue. )
