Put new carb in with my old jets since new ones werent marked. Got my takeoff back and had no hesitation but now cruise speed is 39ish instead of 42ish. Not sure what i would need. To adjust to fix it

Drbob, hope the new carb suits your set up,39 to 42 isn't drastic I,d leave the carb as is but check your cable is adjusted properly then look at the cvt to get that 3mph back, new belt or rollers might do the trick.

To adjust to fix it Old and new carburetor exactly the same or is the new carburetor a copy ? If not exactly the same, new carburetor could require slightly different size jets to preform like the old carburetor.

There were no other changes done at the same time as you changed the carburetor ? That what id say, just bcause a carb has the same jetting doesnt mean the needle is set the same. If i were you id check that, then id move onto air leaks. Take a can of WD40, Carb cleaner, anything that burns, and spray it around the following areas. Intake Manifold, Carb bowl, and airbox hose. IF the RPM's change or the bike dies, there is an air leak at that spot. also post a pic of the spark plug tip and post it here. Also, double check that the carb is opening fully when WOT

drbob, did you try the unmarked jets?also you need to check that the carb slide in situ to make sure it,s lifting all the way up.

Did not try other jet. Need to check slide tho. Going out of town for a couple days so i went to park in a family members garage. On the way to their place is a massive hill where top speed stayed the same even goibg down the hill. Need to replace battery in my tach to see where im acually at but i dont feel like its revving about 8000-8500 rpm. I feel like its hitting at least 8000 at this point bc i can feel.it hit the power curve for my next r pipe. Im thinking the slide may not be opening all the way but i don't know how to check it or adjust it if it isnt.

drbob, should be a simple adjustment of the acc cable, there may be an adjuster at the carb and handle bar end and on some set ups a splitter cable to the oil pump.Post photos if your stuck.

Went to the tech library. Watched some 90gtvert carb videos. Going to try to readjust fuel mixture and cable at carb, i think i loosened the cable connecter at the carb instead of tightening it by my mistake. Also thinking i may be lean also. When i got my next r pipe i upjet to 75 but it was rich so i went back to 70. Stock airbox still also. Going to pick it up tmrw so going to try to adjust 1st. Drive home and see if i think i need to go back to 75

Somewhat found the issue. Throttle cable was messed up under the front hood area where it has a small box where the cable splits to go to oil pump and carb. Slide wasnt going up all the way. Fixed the issue and now slide goes up all the way. Tried 75 main vs 70 and was way too rich and cut out. However even with 70 main it wont hit 10000 rpm even on stand. Wouldnt even hit 9000 with 75. Took it for a quick ride and seems about how it was before carb switch but since rpms are still down thinkibg top end might not go back to where i want it so i May just go back to my old carb.
