Hey guys last week i finished doing a bbk kit on my sister's scoot (sym fiddle 2 2008 version with the old gy6 engine) i ran it 5km and then stopped and parked it.
Next day i changed the roller weights and took it out for an spin but what happend then was a bummer.... I started it and a load of white smoke kept coming from the exhaust
so i guess i would have to replace the piston rings and the head gasket.
What do you guys think about this?
and if you are wondering how much white smoke well i started it in my shed and ran it 10s and well i had to leave the shed because it was full of smoke so it was just as good as an good smoke machine blowing at full load xD
Ps: there is an big possibility that there were some chips of aluminium circulating in the oil. i already rinsed it with a load of oil but yeah there always remains some of it of course .
and why the chips of aluminium? the cylinder skirt was too big for the hole so i had 2 choices. split the crankcase and everything etc. or just bore it out with an cutting bit on a drill and rinse and rinse and rinse i got most of it out and all the bearings still run smooth when i installed it and i left it a few days completely filled with oil and then rinsed it again But i guess not all of it is out of the engine so i think some chips caused the piston rings to leak some oil through.

My guess would be to just replace the Piston rings with a Taiwanese brand.

well its obvious why it started using oil. oh my oh my... damn i hoped it wouldn't be that much but well... so ill just throw in some new good piston rings and new oil run it for 10s then refresh the oil again (filtering it again and again) then it should be fine ;D

Good news! she chooches nicely now refreshed the oil 3x and almost no chips are coming out so that's great.
I had a little fail tho and that was that the new cvt belt was too long but it took me a while to find that out... so i was getting anoyed why it was so slow.. 50kmh when its supposed to go wel above that with the new sport variator so eventualy i replaced it with the old belt and damn it instantly goes to the 70 on the gauge instead of the 50/55ish before the belt i tried heavier weights so now there are 8 gram rollers in there which are pretty heavy but it still rides pretty good so i guess its fine could it accelerate faster? yes but it is for mah sister so i don't want it to be super duper fast xD
overall the scoot rides great
the spark plug however is still a bit grayish with main jet 90 which is pretty weird since all my other big bore's get black sparkplkugs with 90 but ill wait some time and then ill see what color it is if its still too grey ill go 1 size up she often doesn't ride more than 3km at a time so i am too worried about overheating and she is still too scared to go full throthle so that's good for the scoot xD
best of all it doesn't use any oil now ;D i did discover that the hose of the crank breather wasn't letting air through so it was stuck between the carb and the case.. so that also could have explained the exesive oil use but i still would blame the alu chips in the oil tho

It wasn't the aluminum chips in the oil.
