I want to give a shout out to Lucass2T for the suggestion of Boiled Linseed oil to restore plastics. It was buried in a 23 page post here. I have had several scoots with aged footboards and leg shields that needed restoring. The Hyosung I painted with bedliner. It turned out okay. So I tried Linseed oil on the Scarabeo and it is a miracle.
Before:
After:
It didn't come out as well as I hoped but it was my prep I wiped them down with a degreaser and they were a little un even. I think next time I'll go at them with s scotch brite pad and get them even, then oil them. I'll see how long it lasts but it is a major improvement for now.
Once again the information on here is something you can't find anywhere. There are serious scooterists that have a wealth of information. Reading those long threads will give you information that you don't need now but may in the future.

Thank you. It's starting to show signs of needing a second coat. As soon as I clear my lift I'll scotch brite it down and apply the second coat.

Is scrubbing it required beforehand? My plastics aren't quite to the point of full oxidation, but it is hazing.

Mine were dirty as well as faded. They were also scrapped from big feet hitting the tunnel when the PO would step through. I can see small in consistencies that were there when I started. If yours are clean I'm not sure you need to worry.
