Fresh charged battery. Will crank fast all day long. Kick it two or 3 times and fires right up.
When my battery went bad last year. It would crank noticeably slower. But would kick start ok. No it cranks fast with a new battery And nothing. Wont even try. Sometimes but rarely the kick starts wont even work. 6500 km on the scoot . 49cc taotao

BBK installations typically have a reliability consequence!
Might check for loss of cylinder compression, indications that bearings are failing, or crankshaft-flywheel woodruff key has sheared.

bbk has been in for about 2k miles. its 80cc. oil changed every 500. I adjusted the valves and re torques head bolts at 500. after and did valves again 1000 after that and only needed a slight adjustment. wouldn't I notice a performance diff with crappy compression/ bad valves

Yeah you would.. I'd check plug first. Vacuum leaks perhaps.. weather is changing if it's getting cold where u are it may be much too rich now.
CDI! Swap out that cdi with another one.. I had one go bad on me. Same exact symptoms. Running fine then one day just wouldn't even start. Swapped cdi good as new

so, checked the valves the other day. set to .003 same deal. kept the battery on the charger all night again and she fires right up. If it sits for more than 2-3 hours I need to kick start it. ,makes no sense to me. otherwise runs great.
also how long do you guys go between oil changes. ive been doing them at 500 on the odometer.

My Italian scoots say every 5000km but with Chinese engines I would do 500-1000miles.
