Ok I replaced my stator , I had charge coil voltage too low for the CDI, I had an 8 pole, dual charge coil 5 wire, the fifth wire is really irrelevant as it just grounds to the stator frame, and is just an extra ground, I can now start the scooter, but I have no AC voltage on either output wire, I had AC voltage before. I have a good ground wire from the battery all the way to the stator case. I can measure 60 ohms on each wire to ground. This is a single charge coil with two yellow wires, instead of a yellow and white, but both should be the same, it's just AC voltage from each winding, one goes to each side of the regulator rectifier, but I'm measuring 0 volts ac to ground to each wire right out of the stator case, I haven't pulled the flywheel again to check for pinched wires, but my meter is telling me they aren't anyway. any ideas? some kind of oddball wired stator?

the one I put in is not a floating ground, as I can get continuity between the yellow wires, and get continuity on each yellow wire to ground (60 ohms)

ok the original one, which was good on the AC sides, measures 1.2 ohms between each yellow wire and ground VS 60 for the new one, weird

60 ohms is way too much. If I remember right there is a section in most scoot manuals on stator tests.

does anyone know the difference between the 5 wires with two yellow wires, vs one yellow and one white wire? I was told they were the same, now I'm told they tap the windings different and aren't interchangeable, all I know is I have a non functioning stator, which is brand new, and amazon can go screw themselves, four tries to get one, they lost the first one, the second one is no good, the third one was SUPPOSED to be here today, but was inexplicably delayed, so they canceled it, promised they would expedite me another at no cost to me, but now they screwed that up too. I finally get it running, there's hope I can make my road trip I had planned for weeks, and I can't get a dam part , so it still sits

One is two phase, the other is 3 phase.
They are not interchangeable

One is two phase, the other is 3 phase. They are not interchangeable three phase with only two yellow, a green, and the charge coil voltage out?

well the bike is alive other then the stator issue. I just put in a new starter and made some nice battery cables up, and a much better starter cable. started without even a full revolution, push the button and it's running, I can't believe so much unrelated shit all failed at the same time. I've never seen such poor battery and starter leads, has to be about 14 gauge.

You are lucky it is 14AWG. The China wire is brittle also, just like the old VW wiring. The copper is 'dirty' and not pure so resistance goes up also.
If the stator power windings are grounded it is two phase for use with a shunt regulator. Two power wires are usually two phase and grounded, the colors are arbitrary, manufacturer's choice. Three power wires are usually ungrounded and made for a three phase full wave rectifier voltage regulator.
Thanks for the heads up about Amazon scoot parts.
