Hi everyone
Try this one for size
I am scratching my head on one
This scooter did start by the button and for no reason stopped
I have checked the continuity of the switch and we have good tone with very low resistance
I have changed the solenoid, starter and the loom (not the switch yet) tried the starter and solenoid on another scooter and they work fine so it's not them
Any thoughts would be helpful, the switch is working so it can't be that
Thanks
Dave

do your brakes lights work when you pull the brake? is your side stand down? my right brake light switch quit, it was the awful connection where both wires come together, behind the dash, no brake lights, no start

the solenoid gets it's power from the brake light circuit going through the start switch, it gets it's ground from the kill switch, when the kill switch is on, it provides a ground to the CDI and cuts the ground to the solenoid, when it's off it does the opposite

We do have working brake lights on both levers and the kick stand is working but will double check the cables again.
This scooter does not have a kill switch on the handlebars but does have the side stand switch
Any other ideas are appreciated

have you checked your grounds? there should be one from the battery to the frame, then from the frame to the engine running back towards the stator. the ground and battery wires on these chinese scooters are a complete joke.

I have this bike, there is a kill switch on the side stand. Try testing it to make sure it is functioning correctly.
There is a ground from the starter motor to the frame near the starter solenoid, then the negative from the battery also goes to the same bolt in the frame. Check to make sure they have a good connection. Does it work if you take a screwdriver or spanner and short the 2 bolts on the solenoid?

Strange mine didn't have the extra wire. If there is a solid engine to frame ground, and a solid battery to frame it should start anyway, as the starter grounds to the case

1 Does the starter motor turn over the engine?
2 Do you still have spark?
3 When you remove the fuel line to the carb and turn over the engine on the electric start, does fuel come out? 3a If no fuel comes out, remove the vac line from the intake manifold and suck on it. Does fuel come out then? 3aa if fuel does come out when vac line is sucked, check starter motor. I had to replace the starter because it wasnt turning the engine fast enough to pull a strong enough vacuum to let fuel through. 3ab If fuel doesnt come out when sucked, then your vacuum line or fuel petcock will need replacing. 3b if fuel does come out, check your valves. The kick start often turns the engine over faster than the electric start, so it will start if valves are out by a little I set mine to 0.04 in and 0.05 out.
4 Remove the fuel cap, as sometimes the vents get clogged, and if air cant get into the tank, fuel cant come out. the engine only has so much "suck".
