So I wanted a straight pipe because I want people to hear me when I'm coming through. But now my scooter won't start. Does it need back pressure that badly? Sigh.. I tried putting a richer idle nozzle to no effect.
Do I need to buy a replacement now?

I have a cherry bomb, I think the pipe itself is enough back pressure, on a 2T of course the pipe is critical as everything is tuned to scavenge the cylinder, others have run open pipes with no issues.

So why do I have this issue. Could it be I'm blowing out my cdi? That fixed the start issue last time. Guess I'm going to start buying ignition parts again.

I should add. Maybe the issue lkes some where else. Lately I've been blowing fuses. I thought indie to my malfunctioning horn but maybe not

Took the stator off. Saw a lot of dirt. Stator looks fine. I tried another cdi and ignitor no good. I'm completely lost.

have you checked actual running voltage

56v on charging when using the a.c. setting on my. Multimeter. Where should it be?

It should run with a straight pipe.
It will even start with no exhaust at all.
Look somewhere else.

56v on charging when using the a.c. setting on my. Multimeter. Where should it be? while running or cranking? there are different opinions on a good cranking voltage but the general consensus is around 50 or above while cranking

did you ever check your valve clearance?

did you ever check your valve clearance? Yes with my feeler guage I have modified: air intake (I have put back stock until I get this running) Bbk 50mm Exhaust. Its now a straight pipe. I have replaced: (within 48 hrs) Carb Ignitor Spark plug Cdi Oil (Plus the thing next to The stator that tells the vid when to fire with the blue cable) I have tested: Compression test. 120psi @ WOT Valve clearance Ignition coil on stator fuel flow is excellent Last time I got it started it was systematic of a engine running lean with out black smoke. Needed lots of throttle for even low rpm.

Check your clearance on the pickup, the thing next to the flywheel, also check it's output DC should be around .6 volts I think, the clearance is often way off. And it's too far from the flywheel. I had to take my new one and drill the holes bigger to move it closer to the magnet (outside of flywheel there is only one) a weak igni th ion signal can cause this

Im going to try that but I'm not confident. Any thing else i should try. I literally don't know what else to do
