So yesterday I finally closed the deal I was trying to make thru Facebook. I traded this random dude a 22mm Mikuni slide carb, a stock 24mm CVK carb and intake, and two 3.5x10 front rims with good tires on them for this: It even came with a new cylinder, just in case! He sent me a video of it running, first kick, sounded ok on video. He had drained gas for the tear down to fit it in the back seat of his car, so we couldn't get it fired up, but I have faith. I'll be purchasing a new carb for it soon, $20 on eBay. I kinda wanna restore it, not get all crazy with high-speed or anything just a good fun little scoot. If anyone has any info on where to get body/frame stuff, please, help a friend out!

Well... I'm not really a fisherman, even living in Tampa Bay. So, sorry it'll be replaced eventually. Trying to find all original body work, but we'll see.

So I just got home from work. Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and found 2t oil for under a dollar. Small bottle, does one gallon 50:1. I took the gas line off the petcock and with an eye dropper squirted gas mix down the tube to fill the carb bowl.
Carb leaks bad.
F*** it, kick ot over and BRAAAAP then a little sputter and dead. Every time I kick it, it fires up, has throttle response for a second and dies. Carb will be ordered tomorrow.
Back wheel is a little bent, but seems rideable.
The spilled gas is pulling the "drunken gold bling bling" paint job (woo hoo!).
I still gotta open the cvt and have a look-see. I have no idea what I'm gonna find, the trader said "there's no variator dude it's just flat". Hmm. Too dark to go out plus my sciatic is flaring.
Friday and Saturday off this week, I'm gonna put some time into this little scoot.

Very bad decision using cheapy 2 stroke oil. Try www.hondaspree.net and I'm sure the guys can hook you up with everything you need.

Oh, and if there is no variater, then it's an Elite E. Though, I don't believe Elite E's were made in 89. Check out the link and ask the guys, I'm at work ATM, so I can't get into more detail.

Yea ran a bottle of wally "synthetic" 3.2oz 2t oil once. I needed to get home and the inconvenience store didnt have any oil on hand. Worst. Ride. Ever. I dumped all that crap out (push mower gas now), cleaned my fuel system, and filled the tank with some amsoil premix and a splash of quickshot to boot. The damn scoot hated me for a few miles after, but she got over it soon enough.
It seemed to ping a little on decel if i dropped the throttle quick, and the power just faded in the last few miles home, i think it was running hotter with that supertech brand or whatever it is. Just don't do it.

PS - completely loving that pimp cadillac gold paint! Too bad previous owner didnt bling up that sexy heater can with the gold spray too. Best of luck with it, and welcome to the smoky side of scootin!
Edit - omg its got speakers in the seat bucket! Is that so you can loop a 1 liter cycle audio clip at full volume while you ride your chainsaw down the road?

I'm gonna try to get the rest of it off little by little. And those speakers... I don't even know hahah I gotta record a beast Harley and use that audio.

Maybe try a gas soaked rag to remove that old paint. LOL

I believe you got yourself an Elite E/ES judging by the Pictures. Bad news is that it might not have a variator in there but a single speed chain drive, unless it is a Pal not an E/ES only way to know fer sure is taking the side cover off. Here is some more info for ya www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/EliteSB50/EliteSB50.html

If it's an Elite E, I did a writeup on the Spree forums on how to get the most out of it. But for what it's worth, might as well swap the engine.
