Just bought a 2001 linhai power max 50cc 2t with the 1e40fm engine in it. After what I've read here on this engine I had to get it. Anyone know what the biggest bbk I can bolt on to it? Just trying to get a idea before I tear down the whole engine. Also where to go buy a decent 90cc 50mm+ bbk?

That motor has a 90cc case and oddball crank with a 50cc stroke and a 10mm small end pin..All 90cc stuff uses a 12mm small end pin..You can install any 90cc crank and cylinder!

Not to hijack this thread, but how much work would it be to make the 90cc stuff work? Is it as simple as installing the 90cc top end and crank, a carb, exhaust, and do a little tuning? What kind of performance would someone expect? There's a scooter near me that might have this engine in it and it might make a fun project.

Ok, will a regular 90cc crank and cylinder work or do I need a stroker crank?

Stock 90cc parts will drop right in,,It will give you a torquey motor(not high revving),good for street use!Look for a stock Polaris sprotsman 52mm cylinder(used)in good shape as the quality is better than most aftermarket stuff..

Thanks 190mech, that's exactly what I'm looking for, a street setup with lots of torque. For my daily driver.

The motors that come with the 52mm cylinders are usually tall and use a 45mm crank. My experience so far

Looking at bbk's for my 1e40fm engine and came across this one. Do you guys know anything about the extra ports in it? And could I use it for a every day driver setup?

Those extra ports are auxiliary exhaust ports. They make a little more port area without having a huge ring-snagging port. Unfortunately, they are tiny on these engines because the stud location prevents anything larger. If you try to open them up much, you can break through into the passage where the cylinder studs are and then you have a problem. Practical/useful info : I have had better luck with out of the box bolt-on use with the 8 port cylinders, but I found it easier to work with the standard single exhaust port kits when modding. Both can be modded though. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/post/29871/threadAnyone interested in 90cc+ stuff may want to check out my Project 90 thread and T2's thread. The 90+cc clones are my favorite engines to roll with in small scoots. They don't make wild horsepower like some 70cc race stuff, but they can make good usable power in sort of a mild/street/sport setup. Riding a 70cc mild/street/sport setup after the 90 makes it feel lacking to me, but again you can put the right parts on a 70cc and whoop a mild 90cc+. Race engines, they can be with enough effort... but their strong point IMO is fun street power. Project 90T2 Build ThreadMy Youtube channel (plenty of vids with T2 and numerous 90cc+ setups)

How can I tell what length stroke crankshaft I need to use with a certain cylinder?

And also just found this that says it has 10mm pin? Someone said all 90cc stuff is 12mm? I could just drop this in with the stock 10mm crankshaft right?

190mech said it uses a 50cc stroke, I think that means 39.2mm like the 1e40qmb? But the tech library shows a stroke of 42mm for the 1e40fm. That 52mm bbk would net you 89.2cc or 83.2cc depending on the stroke.
Yes, you could use a 10mm pin kit. Imho, buy a higher quality kit. That ebay kit is using a generic 49cc pic. I had to do a lot of porting on my cheap ebay 70 kit. My neighbor, received one full of cracks throughout the dividing wall in the transfers, returned that one.
Keeping an eye on this because I'm hopping on the 90 train when funds allow.

How can I tell what length stroke crankshaft I need to use with a certain cylinder? Usually by cylinder length. When they're around 77-78mm, they are often better suited for 42mm or so stroke. The ones taller than that are for longer strokes like 45mm. That's how it goes on paper. In reality, I've bought some tall cylinders and ended up liking how I could get the short ones setup better on 45mm strokes.
