Mostly stock 1e40qmb vento zip clone. Texnigas next r pipe. Clutch and torque springs. Other then that and tuning the variator its stock. im 280lbs lbs. Cruise speed is 41 @ 9300 rpm. Downhill can hit 44 @ 10000 ish. Wanting to be closer to the 10000 ish mark. Not wanting to do a bbk yet so I'm thinking a new variator may help me get there. Any suggestions, preferably in the $50ish dollar range

To reach the 10,000 mark, some engine work will be needed to get the engine to breathe at those revs...

It's well above that $50 mark, but after years of using Hoca variators (Malossi MultiVar clone) and now years of a Malossi over range kit... I'd just get the OR kit from the start and save money in the long run if you'll ride a lot. The Hoca does work well, but it can't really compare to the Malossi. Not too sure how the OR does on a stock-ish engine though to be fair. The reason I say I'd save in the long run with the OR kit is that I tore up a lot of variators and guide bushings over many miles trying to get more out of the variator than it was really intended to and the OR stuff will take some abuse. That said, the Hoca made me pretty happy till I discovered the OR stuff and the price is way lower. Either way, there are Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals going on right now from multiple sites so you could get a significant discount on whatever you choose. Check the Coupons section of the forum. www.partsforscooters.com/169-140_minarelli_90cc_variatorwww.g-forcepowersports.com/product-p/6114745.htmIf you're into modding it, some guide extensions can make the Hoca better. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1227/homemade-overrange-variator
