Aloha!
I picked up a new engine block and had the crank redone at a shop (Ruima, stock stroke). I started on the final drive box today, the cover and innards of which I had to pull from my regular 1E40QMB with the blown cylinder studs. It seems to match up perfectly, except if I torque down the bolts, the gears bind up and stop spinning easily. If I back off the bolts just a bit it seems to spin freely again, is there a gasket for the back gear box that I'm missing? Any links to such a gasket would be much appreciated!
mahalo!

Sometimes you can remove the shim that goes on the intermediate gear and use a sealant instead of a gasket and that will work. Don't lose that shim though, it may be needed again someday. Before you go putting on sealant, do a dry run and see if that works and allows everything to move freely. As is par for the course with Chinese parts, sometimes that will work and sometimes it won't.

Thanks for the replies!
I was doing a little thinking in the hours before I went to bed and thought about the necessity of that shim, it's good to know I can take it out safely, it would save me some scouting around for a gasket (or cutting one, ew). I noticed my shim seems to be a little springy, more like a wave lock washer than a flat one, might be contributing to the binding moreso. Unfortunately I did'nt do the dry fit before I threw on some motoseal, so I have to do some scraping, but at least it wasnt fully dry before I discovered the problem.

I ended up cutting a new 1/32" thick gasket with the template, came out great! Hopefully it will stop the binding and hold in oil.
