My Peugeot Blaster is very hard to start in the morning. Once I give it a spray of engine starter it fires up straight away. The rest of that day it starts fine. It’s running a 70cckit, 21mm carb, open filter & technigas pipe.Any ideas.😢

Haha...My initial response is to start with the fundamentals of carb tuning. (Assumes you have changed nothing lately). 1. New air filter, spark plug, clean fresh fuel 2. Check/Set float level and re-new float needle 3. Pilot jet sizing and adjustment 4. Needle valve step adjusting 5. Main jet sizing and testing
My political response is: Consider going back to an air box. (2 stage) Especially, if you live in conditions that change frequently. I live in hot and humid 80% of the time...and still play with tuning often. I have tuned long enough to know not to give up my air box. Opinions vary with riding style and performance demand. Pods are good for top end...IMO, only top end. Low end and mid range are greatly enhanced by controlling air pressure at the carb venturi...stabilizing it.
If you live in a cold area this time of year, but hot in summer...it makes a big difference in carb settings. That difference is a bit amplified with a pod filter. (Plus it is less fuel efficient)

Ok. I think I’ll start with a new plug. The bike is my daily ride & has great performance overall so just need to sort the cold start. Maybe a pilot jet adjustment is need. It has a manual choke so I know that’s working. Thinking it needs to be richer on the start up.

change the plug and put the airbox back on, has it been cold? sometimes with these scoots you need to start them with the kick starter first thing in the morning, it spins the engine over faster then a cold battery and starter, most of these also use 15w40 diesel oil, which is really thick when cold, so an initial kickstart to get some engine heat, helps

edit didn't see 2 stroke, ignore the oil issue

edit didn't see 2 stroke, ignore the oil issue Actually lostforawhile has a point worth pondering...if you ARE in cold weather and still have an oil injection pump the 2T oil will not pump as easily just as suggested . It might take a few minutes for it to begin to work well. Yet another reason to make a paper weight out of that old sick pump and consider going to pre-mix. With your oil dissolved in the fuel, no glue! I think your issues are carb tuning though...

Thanks for the ideas. It is now summer here so even in the morning it’s not that cold. I always use the kick start & the bike uses premix already.

If it has an auto choke, have you checked its working?

Fitted a new plug & it started straight up. May start cleaning my plugs every few weeks.

Good point...plus, if you have had even mild performance issues for a bit of time...consider a through exhaust port and pipe cleaning...Good time for it!

I would recommend fixing whatever issue is causing the plugs to foul instead of going to a hotter plug. It might be worth while to take another look at your jetting.
