Re checked compression today after finally getting it running. Starter or kicking, Couldt et more than 60psi. And it diddnt hold that more than a few min.
Thats a 80cc bbk from glixal off amazon. Got about 3k miles out of it. All wide open driving. Debating on throwing another one in there

glixal is crap get a good kit, everything I ever bought from them was junk. it's the junk of chinese junk

It wasn't 4t, but I had a cast polini bbk that was bullet proof. I ran the thing open forever n never seized, like 5-10 mins straight of WOT on my way to work. I ran a big carb and foam filter too, and I was missing half of my cooling shroud. never seized once.

I could be just a burnt valve. I had a piece of sparkplug insulator nick the seat and burned the valve out. Swapped out and lapped in a new one...ran great after.
I'd pull the head before buying anything.

I'd check the valve clearance before condemning the jug & rings. If the exhaust is too tight, a very common occurrence, the compressed gas could leak past the valve & seat. A compression test is not a 'stationary' test, where you 'pump it up and wait to see if it leaks'. There will be leakage around the piston, and then past the ring end gap of both compression rings, and the cylinder will NOT hold pressure over time. If you still think it's gone, squirt in a teaspoon of motor oil through the sparkplug opening, and test the cranking compression again. If the pressure comes up a whole lot, then the oil has temporarily taken over for the piston rings, and the rings are likely toast. Just overheating the engine one time can de-tension the rings, and they'll leak compression forever. The piston and cylinder could still be fine, and a $10 set of rings could get you back on the road. tom
