I recently purchased a new no name Chinese made replacement carbuerator for my Minarelli 2t scoot. I’ve had many problems with tuning it and getting the electric choke to work properly. Any recommendation on a replacement name brand carb such as a mikuni or oko that will work good with the stock 50?

I think dellorto is a pretty good choice in that motor, but I've never ran one.

Dellorto PHBGs are quite popular. 17.5mm would probably be good for a stock engine. 19mm would be overkill for stock, but would give you plenty of room to expand (BBK, pipe). Easy to find parts for the PHBGs. They fit stock intakes and fit stock airboxes with the right adapter (usually 36mm). As easy as any carb to tune IMO. Plenty of documentation out there about Dells. You can get cheap clones, but personally I'd spend the ~$100 on a genuine. Black editions of those carbs are easier to tune with a screw on cap and more important to me they have a plug in the bowl for easy access to the main jet without having to take the bowl off.

Dellorto, obviously. I use a Dellorto 17,5mm clone right now and before the automatic choke shuts off, the tank is empty. Pulls wheelies without any problems until it starts overflowing and sputtering for some reason. The reeds are new and when I take off an air filter, the filter is clearly soaked in fuel. Believe me, don't waste your time and buy a real Dellorto 17,5mm. From what I've heard, they're easy to tune, runs great on stock cylinder and won't disappoint you if you get a BBK.

On a stock motor i'd go with a PHVA 12mm. The PHVA's come with auto choke/enricher which makes life easier. The PHBG's are hand choke or with a remote choke but still manual.
Otherwise you could look for a Teikei 14mm (also called TK). Thats a stock minarelli carb. Also auto choke. I dunno much about non racing Keihins or Mikuni's.
