I got this Beamer lll 2 stroke off a guy for 50$ called in the vin its not hot, it looks as if it was inside put up as there seems to be no weather damage at all. it has not ran for over a year cause the carb was messed up, so I did not clean it I just bought a new one put it on and it fired up 1st go. It will sit and idle all day but when I give it gas real hard it floods and blows gas out the exhaust pipe. I took the carb off checked the float valve and all seems to be in order with the sealing and all. I also replsed the petcock. Is there something that I am missing

When you put the new carb on did you tune it? It could have jets that are way to large so its running to rich and or the needle needs to be adjusted. This is a good link to tuning a carb: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/556 Ignore the BBK install and skip to the bottom where he adjusts the carb.

I would replace the spark plug.

I would first check the size of the main jet. It idles fine you say and if the petcock or float were causing it to flood, they would usually have a greater effect on the idle.
It could also be a weak ignition system that can't handle any load. Something like the spark plug as errmkk suggested or loose connections or a bad coil or CDI or stator. If it starts easy each time, I'd still check out the main jet first.

I think that model has a DC CDI,must have a fully charged battery for the ignition system to provide a hot spark..

190mech is correct about the DC cdi. Also pull the cdi out of the holder look at the back side there might be a green wire loop that comes out of the epoxy and loops back in. If so that is the Rev limiter, cut that wire and tape the ends

Ok, I will clean the old jets from the old carb and swap them out and see on that.. I will also refer to the tuning page for the carb. The CDI is a DC but it has 2 green wires coming out of it, one is rev limit, what is the other? Both green wires are hooked up right now. I will also change the plug, What type of plug should I use. It has good battery and the charging system is working prop. I mixed my gas in the tank cause I was not sure if the oiler was working as well, that should not hurt I don't think. I will give it a shot on my next day off, 7 days a week, grrrrrr I will look into everything and get back with everyone. Thanks for the replies. I am a 4t man, just could not pass up on this 2t, great deal.

The green wires in the plug are not the wire you are looking for. If it has it it will be a loop in and out of the epoxy on the back side of the cdi. You have to take the cdi out of the rubber holder to see it

The Rev limiter wire is just a loop hooked to nothing but itself and the epoxy

There are 2 green wires that come out the cdi just below the cdi plugs plugs that just loop back in to the center of the box

here is the cdi green wires I'm on my phone and it is hard to see. That cluster of green wires looks like it. Only 2 go into the epoxy? Looks like someone added wire to it. Make sure the 2 that come out aren't connected to each other and tape the ends. When they are connected it will kill ignition at a rather low rpm. That is probably your issue. Looks like they are hooked to gather

they are spliced right, no one added the wires. 4 of them coming out the epoxy. I will connect them better and try running it, when I find out what the other wire is for. Thanks for the input. I will have a few little thing to do on my next day off, hope it solves the prob. if not I am sure to get it sooner or later.i will keep yall posted .. Thanks.
