Ok guys swapped carbs and it almost wants to start.. Messed with idle and air screw. Idle screw is all the way in because it sounded like it wanted more idle speed but no go. Currently charging battery to try again later. Air screw is all the way in also. Tried in and out nothing. Also tried spark and i got a good arch. Any thoughts?

It's definetley the carb. If you want to keep this scoot around. Id spring for a real Dellorto. Probably the racing edition with the oil nipple. www.treatland.tv/dellorto-PHBG-21mm-DS-black-race-carburetor-pull-p/dellorto-phbg-21-ds-race-2699.htm . Those stock carbs are just junk. I use to have the same problem as you with my Jog. You don't need a 21mm you can get by very nicely with just a 19mm Dellorto. But if you have the bug or plan on modifying your scoot to go faster and faster then I'd just get a 21mm. You'll never have carb problems again. Not to mention there's a 22% off sale going on right now. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/20764/22-off-treatland-moving-saleEDIT: By no means am I trying to get you to spend a lot of money. But you could end up buying 3 stock carbs just trying to get it to run. Dellorto.....real!

But ive tried multiple multiple carbs and still won't run and they are all brand new. Plus my throttle cable is kinda short and some carbs just won't work for my scooter. Do they have a site for their carbs directly?

Can you give me a link to the carb for the 1E40QMB?? I don't see any carbs that would work.

Really dont want to spend 120 dollars on a carburetor.... Thats just ridiculous in my opinion. I don't necessarily want to start modding and going faster quite yet. I just want to putt around town with no issues. I had a Japanese carb for like 3 years and the only reason i took it off is because where the throttle cable connects the screw threads simply broke off. That carb was the best one i ever had but cannot remember where i got it from. I can take pictures of it and maybe someone would recognise it.

Actually that carb wont work. The throttle cable connector is wrong. My throttle cable is a little too short and will only work with the current idk what you wanna call it. The tube where it slides through. It will only work with that length tube. And that piece is different than the one i have on now

It gets confusing with a bunch of threads over time for essentially the same issue, but if you are not getting much of a reading on the compression test, then I wouldn't go spending money on a carb right now to fix this. Gotta find out why you aren't getting a compression reading. Here's the other current thread and anyone interested in past posts can click on stancejontland's name and view threads : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/20790/compression-test-parts-list?page=2Maybe try to keep the info here to make it easier for people to help from this point. So, the scoot started and then would die in 30 seconds or so, but lately it won't start at all. -You said you have tried 4 carbs, so there's another reason not to buy more as long as they were in good condition. -Petcock works if you suck on it, but you don't seem to find much fuel in the lines any time you check. -Seems like it cranks a bit quickly and you aren't getting a good number on a compression test. -Spark has been checked. -Fuel has been replaced so it's not old gas. -You've fiddled with carb settings. Please correct anything I got wrong in that little summary and add anything that may be relevant. One thing that pops into my mind is, what was the actual compression figure? I don't recall you saying anything other than it didn't make to it specs we suggesting like 120psi. I mentioned maybe a head gasket in the other thread and you said you don't see any residue around there, which is typical if a 2T head gasket leaks. Spark plug threads look/feel alright? Could be worn out or damaged top end. Maybe a stuck piston ring, which you can sometimes tell looking through the exhaust port. Could still be the compression tester not sealing.

Stancejontland, are you using the electric start? I used to use the electric start on my bike all the time, but there were times when the bike just wouldn't want to fire up. A buddy of mine told me when that happens, use the kick starter. Sure enuff, I'd use the kicker and it would fire up after a few kicks. Now, I always kick start my engine.
Just a thought.

90gtvert you got everything pretty nailed down. And i havent ran the compression test yet. Just trying to get assumptions on what if i have bad compression. And the plug that is in it is basically brand new. Threads are good. Spark is good. I dont know what a stuck piston ring would look like but i never heard any screeching or metal on metal ware like that. I mean i did ride it alot with the shroud off but after a few times on here people said put it on so i did. So hopefully no damage was done. The bike wants to run. It just wants to lol. I just cant seem to get it just right. And i refuse to take it to my local motorcycle shops because they are just too expensive. Id end up paying more in labor than what the bike is probably worth. Im going to mess with it today a little bit more and try some differnt things / tunes before i run out and get a compression tester. And when i go get it ill post a video of my results. Also try to take more pictures of my engine to see if anyone sees anything im not. So stay tuned guys. Really appreciate all the feed back. With out you guys i would have pushed it off a cliff by now haha. So just bare with me through this.
