Back to the beginning, some basic minimal tool stuff. If you pull the spark plug, shove your thumb hard in the plug hole (heh heh), and crank the engine how hard does it blow your thumb off the hole?
If you cover the inlet of the carb with your hand can you feel a definite vacuum when cranking?
Spark plug makes spark when connected and held against the block?
Fuel is good?

I dont know what a stuck piston ring would look like but i never heard any screeching or metal on metal ware like that. Basically rings can get stuck in the grooves that they sit in and not be able to seal. If the rings don't seal, then you get low or no compression because little can be trapped above the piston to be compressed; it just passes by the rings. If that happens, you'll be pulling the top end apart. If you're planning to get a compression test done, then I wouldn't go tearing it apart just yet to check a bunch of possibilities based on just a possibility that it doesn't have acceptable compression.

I'm seeing signs of a possible leak at the head. And a leaking exhaust gasket.

When my scooter does run for a few seconds its very quite so wouldnt it be loud if it was leaking? Yhe new pipe came with a gasket. But the header pipe woudlnt work because of the bend in it. So i used the stock header pipe and new tail pipe

So the exhaust leak may be old. But he black on the bottom of the head is suspicious.

ok just tried to blow smoke through the intake / vacuum line and didnt see any come out. messsed with carb a little bit and got it to run for a few seconds. it sounds like its trying to start but when i got it to run i was twisting the throttle trying to keep it running. and it just died out.

could the gasket. if there is one that goes there between the head and crank cause it not to run? and i mean the place where the plug goes in. that little silver block on top of engine. could be the issue? it doesnt look like there is one there though?

Yes it's on a battery charger. And i dont even think there is a gasket between the head and cylinder... I had to get a new head when u I first got the bike because it was stripped. Anyone have a good link or can i get one off amazon/ebay? So i can try that. I have been riding the bike for 2 summers like that and maybe it just started leaking or thats why it doesnt run anymore. But would that let the bike run for a few seconds then die out? Or not start at all?
