hello I was wondering if my scooter stock pilot jet is 35 what would happen if I went to a bigger size? It would get more fuel into your air/fuel ratio. Usually if you pull the air box and modify the exhaust you'd go to a 38.

ok trying to figure out a way to squeak a few more miles per hour out of the bike without doing a big bore kit. under 50cc here no motorcycle endorsement needed. have gotten the bike to do 43 but that is on a smooth road.

Changing the pilot jet will help with overall tuning but is not going to get you any more top speed. 43 is actually good for a 139QMB.

lots of little changes can make one big one. I think its called tuning. but if you want to squeeze a little more but don't want to do any engine mods, then an aftermarket variator and adjusting weights and clutch/contra springs. the final drive gears can be changed, but unless you up the power of the engine the gains will be little if any. a simple thing to do is an offset woodruff key to advance the timing a few degrees.

To add to what Jeff said, you can enlarge the mounting holes on the ignition pickup and move it a bit to advance timing more than factory. See 90gtvert youtube mod video. You can use a file or a Dremel-type tool to ovalize or elongate the mounting so the pickup will 'find' the timing piece 'sooner' in the crank rotation. tom
