Hey guys - I installed a 20mm carb and put in a #35 pilot and a #90 main. I’m getting really poor idling performance and I need to screw the mixture screw entirely closed to keep it from stalling. Does that mean my pilot is too small or too big? thank you all!

Oh and forgot to mention - I have a 80cc BBK installed and replaced the air box with the 39mm cone air filter.

What type of motor is it? And carb? I'm guessing a 139qmb 4 stroke?

The mixture screw on the stock carb controls fuel. Screwing it all the way in shuts off fuel supply and out allows more fuel past. 35 pilot doesn't sound too big for a pod filter, but the symptom may be saying it is. Try a 32 and see what it does.

Turned out it was the carb. Installed a higher quality 20mm that purrs like a kitten with a 38 pilot. I need to upjet the main a bit (currently 80 and probably need a 90-95). I’m gonna try a 90 and ride it for a couple days to see. I ordered a tach but it won’t be here for a few days.

Installing a #96 main tonight to see how it runs - I have two GY6 49cc’s with 80cc BBKs so I have several test beds
