Hello I have put about 150 miles on this scooter the only issue I have is that the engine will suddenly stop making power after 9-10 miles on a a trip then idle for a few seconds and eventually shut off I have to play with throttle and starter for a few times before scooter comes back on with power as it usually first turns on again with no acceleration and shuts off again soon, then I will be good for another 4-6 miles until it shuts off again, this always happens on long trips after 9-10 miles and never on short trips of less than 6 miles, after it dies When I crank it I don't hear gas exploding in the engine just the starter going off but when it's about to start I will start hearing the explosions again and bam it's running at full power again if it doesn't shut off after few seconds and the above repeats.
Letting the scooter cool off after it turns off does nothing. I still have to play with starter for like a minute or two
Does anyone have any advice regarding this problem or the scooter?
I will change gear oil and engine oil soon as specified by manufacturer should I check or change any parts while I'm at that?
Thank you for reading and for your help

Welcome!! Initially it sounds like not enough fuel is getting to the carb and it's going dry. First, check to verify the fuel cap is vented and not plugged. If ok, disconnect the vacuum line from the intake manifold, open the fuel drain line from the bottom of the carb into a clean container and suck on the vacuum line. This should cause fuel to flow into the container. Is it clean? If there are 'silver' bubbles in the bottom, that's water. About 1 ounce a minute should be enough (more is ok). So, what's the status? Did you buy it new? How many total miles? You will find a lot of help thru the Scoot Faq tab on the left.

I bought used with 100 miles I have ridden it for 150 it was stored indoors for about 5 years I know they had to do some work with the fuel system to get it running after storage.

One thing often overlooked is the vertical screen stuffed up inside the fuel tank feeding the outlet fitting. It i a tube with multiple screens to keep 'stuff' out of the petcock and fuel system. If it got plugged by 5 years worth of fuel aging results, it could slow the flow of fuel out of the tank. Wait a while, and some fuel would flow, fill the fuel line, filter, and possibly the carburetor, and you can run again for a while. Use up the fuel in the bowl, sputtering to a stop as the engine starves, and then wait 'til more fuel can seep through the system. Same condition if the filter was partially plugged, or the fuel valve gummy(vacuum operated), both of which would tend to restrict fuel flow to the carburetor. The question is whether it is a heat problem or a fuel problem. A heat problem, I think, would have the engine slowing down as internal parts started to get more cozy inside due to heat expansion. Fuel problems would show more as sputtering and somewhat stuttering loss of power rather than a gradual slowdown. tom

Thank you all for you wisdom. Although I was unable to dissect all the fuel system because my scooter is different than the ones on YouTube videos, I inspected the gas flow up to the carb and it was ok, I flipped the gas filter around which I found to significantly improve gas flow(maybe a placebo) and I added a carb cleaner gas treatment, two days later I can tell by the way the gas filter dome looks after riding that there is much better gas flow now.
Also did valve adjustment which was really helpful the scooter is 500℅ smoother now. Maybe this was the issue off the bat.
Changed gear and engine oil too. Maybe this helped with vibration too not sure.
Scooter is running like a dream now so much smoother than before and no stalling so far. Walmart snake oils for the win. also this forum and its members for the win, until my scooter explodes. haha.

its a common china thing, that inline fuel filter is placed/hooked wrong wayaround at factory.
notice also that there are China made inline fuel filters that have the "arrow" indication at filter body Wrong wayaround. in China they can Fu*k up basically everything, not just Spelling words when not supposed to.
in layman terms, regarding inline fuel filter Orientation: - the larger Volume section is always for the incoming Crap side, so to speak. - the smaller Volume section is always for the Clean fuel that has passed through filtering and is going INTO carb.
of course Construction of inline filters varie, and it may not be so obvious always. also some filters are NOT needing Orientation, work bothways as Departments are equal volume or/and both Departments are fully visible.
on Traditional inline filters it ABSOLUTELY matters to but the Orientation correctly.
