Hey guys - my Zummer has a bunch of little brass speed nuts for holding on body panels, battery cover, etc. I can't find replacements ANYWHERE! I have tried Taotao direct, Fastenal, Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace. Anyone find these online for purchase??? This is driving me crazy!

I think what you are looking for is a “Nut Clip” or a “U Clip”. They are not brass but rather steel plated gold color “Zinc Chromate”. The zinc chromate is a rust preventative. E-Bay has assortment kits for about $15. The people at Home Depot and Lowes will not know what they are but A REAL harware store will have them.

Just ordered these: a.co/et1vROeI can't find the exact dimensions, but they look identical and the screw hole diameter size matches up. Fingers crossed they are right and I have plenty to spare!

A search for "u speed nut" or "u speed clip" seems to find a selection from different sources.

I see you've got some coming, but in case it's of use for anyone else... I've always called them tinnerman clips or nuts, but most seem to have no clue if I say that. I learned it from a Dr. Crankenstein car audio tech VHS in the 90s. lol ACE and Mom & Pop hardware stores may carry them. Cheap source that may be local to some : www.harborfreight.com/170-piece-u-clip-and-screw-assortment-67588.html

You might want to add "tinnerman nut" to your search too.

The seller on Amazon just sent me the dimensions and they look like a perfect replacement. I would assume that Taotao uses the same, or very similar, on all of their scoots.

I have one of those nut to hold the battery cover with a screw. What is odd is that I screw this screw very lightly, but it takes several dozens of turns to unscrew it.I try to pull off the crew to save time, but the screw does not come off at all, i really need to unscrew it all the way and then it comes off, even though I hardly screw it.
