Are you sure this is for your scoot engine? I goog'd and found listings that made me think(bridged exhaust port) that is was for a 2T.
Quote:"Airsal 80cc "Racing" Cylinder Kit. Nikasil-plated aluminium cylinder with bridged exhaust port and single-ring piston (d=50mm). With a lot of power and a lot of torque at mid to high rpms, this 80cc cylinder kit is definitely a racing."
To me, thatza two-stroke description. I thought you had a 4T. What are you installing it on?

Airsal does make 50mm kits. May make more. They appear to be good quality and with a piston that creates higher compression than typical 50mm kits. Would definitely not be a great choice if you want to use a stock head and bolt it together. Should be good for big bore/big valve heads with larger combustion chambers. Some get so large that they end up having low compression so the Airsal piston may be good in those cases. I've got one here that I bought on sale for $50 years ago, but I haven't gotten to using it yet.

I have a 47mm head on hand. intake 21mm exhaust 19mm. Do you think this will work.
I've read other thread, were you weight in a 50mm airsal piston to around 63 grams. Was this the piston that comes with this kit? And if so, because of the lower weight of the piston, will it make the engine last longer. Compared to other 50mm kits with slightly heavier pistons?

It may work with a 47mm head. Not sure.
That should be the same piston. Should cause less stress on the bottom end.

Found an English language version(I think): www.racingplanetusa.com/airsal-cylinder-airsal-sport-series-813cc-50mm-139qmb-50cc-qmb139-kymco-stroke-scooters-p-192825-1.html#.WrKG9P4zxpg Note the cylinder diameter of 54mm where it goes into the crankcase. Boring may be required. Caution in their description. In Sgt Schulz voice: "I know nussing..." Secondary caution from me. This has an aluminum cylinder, not cast iron. It may dissipate heat better as you don't have a metal:metal interface between Fe:Al, its all Al. But, the walls may not have as long a life. Some racing equipment(this is sold as racing vs standard) has a different life than regular old replacement parts. I cannot state boo as to longevity, so be aware. Third caution. Looked at 'spare parts'.... any and all are located in Europe, so if you need to replace the piston, rings or the gasket set they sell, you will have trans-Atlantic shipping costs & time to consider. Boy, sound like a wet blanket, right? Just trying to make it clear you are considering something that is more or less 'uncommon'. I'd use the word esoteric, but no one knows what it means, the self defining word. Gotta agree their piston might work well with BB cylinder heads to gain a bit of compression if one is being used. Fun it you have the time and $$'s to spend on it. If you do, a report is required. tom
