Oh, well......we'll go ahead and answer anyway. We like to help and we like to 'hear' ourselves 'talk'. At least I do.
Aside from those decals that say "Future Champion" and "Super Motor" (something that seems like it belongs on a Tonka toy), they seem to be a very good bike at an excellent price.
I've got one. A 150. And I don't get to ride it all that much because I've all but given it to one of my daughters. She's the one who really rides it. And she's not the type who puts a bunch of effort into babying a motor vehicle. I think she's matured enough to not ride it too, too hard. And I believe she checks the tire pressure. Probably not as often as one really should. But I believe she does it at least a bit because she does understand that improperly inflated tires are a definite safety hazard. But I don't think she does any other maintenance and she doesn't shower it with TLC. She and I checked valve lash last summer. It was fine.
Yet she just keeps on riding it without it giving any trouble. There has been a couple of times when that bike didn't get her home. And it happened to me once on that bike. But the ailments involved were small stuff that was easy to repair.
But she's also put a lot of miles on it and it just keeps on going. When I get a chance to ride it I find myself thinking, "I do like this scooter!" It feels good on the road.
Some of the components feel a bit cheap and I'd like it to have better weather protection. That front is a bit narrow.
But it was very inexpensive and is pretty reliable. I could easily see myself buying another one. I'd like to try out the 50cc version, too.

Its a 50cc im considering. The future champion and super motor decals are funny and appealing to me for some reason. I think it will be as reliable as my stolen Dykon. It had a few probs but nothing major.

I have a 2012 model VIP. I have used and abused the mess out of it and it will not give up. I would call them reliable as ****.

I'm at about 8k miles. No major probs. PDI is essential. Magnetic drain plug really great idea. Valve adj at 1k miles essential. Many posts on this model, notably from 90GTVert.

Do you all have a tach on your vip future champion? That would be handy.

Does anyone know if theyre jetting them super lean still? There was a thread saying they were jetted dangerously lean a couple years ago.

The only way I can think of to check myself is to read the plug.I don't know how accurate that would be. I already know about the headless screws.

My 49.6cc came stock with a 72mj. It never ran right. I upped it to an 83mj and it ran alright. Then I dropped a 19mm keihin cvk with an 88mj and an open air filter into it and with a few minor adjustments to needle position and idle a/f mixture it worked like a dream. So I would say yes, they are jetted lean out of the box.

First off, thats an awesome avatar pic.And secondly since the needle jet probably isn't adjustable I think ill just get a new carb that has an adjustable needle jet and easier access to the main jet. Im just nervous about the new carb fitting, etc.

My needle wasn't adjustable either. I went to the hardware store and found some very small thin washers that would fit it and added a few of those to raise the needle.
