I really like the A9. I sell a performance cam that doesn't have as much lift (less chance hitting your piston) but is timed better than stock. Check it out here. A lot of the A9's sold out there are just stock lobes with a lightened cam gear. I really don't know who makes a true A9, I can't match up the logo on mine anywhere.

Cams seem to be the 'nobody doan know nuttin' product. No marking by the manufacturer, no name, no trademark, no symbol, nothing at all. There must be a phantom factory that shoves them out the door at night, with employees bussed in daily from the surrounding countryside, never to be seen again. It's a mystery, I tell ya.
I have not seen a cam labeled A9, but have heard/read of some others such as A8, A10, A11 that are not readily available from anyone I know of. I bought a 'performance cam', and the description listed the lobe measurement only, which indeed measured 'thicker' than the factory cams I compared it to. I expect it gives longer duration, but have not put it to use yet. tom

I wish I took a pic of mine. Clearly has A9 etched into it, and a weird box-like logo, multiple 3d boxes together... hard to explain. I don't have it installed, it's on my table at home. I'll try to snap a pic of it when I return from work.

Ummh, if you really like the A9, why is it a table decoration? I got a bargain cam that is in the box, awaiting the BBK and 20mm that I plan on installing. (Actually awaiting me getting motivated, but other things intervene) I was surprised at the quality of the machining and the smooth ball bearings. Then again, I consider Sun microsytem circuit boards to be 'art'. The lobes appear to be 'fatter', which should make the duration longer. I am not sure what the combo I am cooking up will do, but the difference between a 39mm and a 47mm is significant. The cam & carb are 'lagniappe', I think. We shall see. tom

At least they are proud enough of their workmanship and product to put their name on it. That seems IMO to be the key in determining China product quality. the items that have no mark or brand are not done as well in general. I went round and round with a vendor located in USA about their gears. I purchased a full set, and was unable to fit one into place. Its diameter was incorrect. It was impossible to make it fit. This was an image I sent, along with an explanation of how to read a micrometer: I wrote the measurements on my 'background paper', and sent another image with the micrometer on the other gear to show the incorrect dimension. The gears had no 'brand'. Funny that. I was contacted from China, asked for pictures, the above was sent, and finally a few weeks later, I got a new gear cut to proper dimension. I suggested to the vendor they measure all their inventory to avoid selling more 'out of spec' gears. That gear was removed from their site at least for a while. I figure I was the first to recognize the problem, and report it with sufficient documentation. They suggested I buy a 'full set of gears' and they would work. I replied that I already had done that .. from them... It just takes time and persistence sometimes. The people were very nice, and tried to make good. They sold me the 'performance cam' that I plant to install on a GMW soonly. Is that cam new or used? The surface appears to have 'varnish' from being lubed with hot oil, but may be an anti-corrosive coating. I cannot tell. This is the reason for the gear purchase: Input shaft bearing failed and scattered balls & ground up guide everywhere. Had to weld the old race to get it to loosen and have something to whack to drive it out. All new bearings installed, and it turns smoothly now. Are we off topic enough yet? tom
