Hello,
My used tao tao atm50 was missing quite a few bolts and others may not be correct. Do any of you know or know where I can find information on which bolt/nut/screw/washer combo is used in which hole(s) on the body plastics?
Thanks

Oh, boy. I doubt if you can find any kind of specs giving that info. And some of those fasteners will be oddballs.
But I do know of something that'll help somewhat. Some of the fasteners will be a lot like short wood screws. They'll have the same sort of thread. Those threads will thread into a flat clip that slides over the plastic. Harbor Freight has small boxes of various clips and screws of just that type available. Some won't be the right size, but others will.
If you don't live near enough to a Harbor Freight to go there, maybe they'll ship? I've never looked into that. If not, then maybe you could find the same thing on Amazon. It would seem likely.
And for those parts of the body where a clip-and-screw fastener won't work, then you're best off just making a substitute bracket and bolting it in. I've done that before. Works well enough.

NYC scooter parts has those fasteners if you can look through their catalog and figure out which ones you need. www.nycscooterparts.com/Their parts are high quality. HF has an online catalog. I have been buying mail order from them since 1979.

My older brother buys and builds all sorts of cars. He restores every clip and fastener he can, to eliminate squeaks and make good connections. (He sells high end stuff mostly) This is one good source: autobodyclips.com/Here is another: www.clipsandfasteners.com/Autobody-Clips-And-Fasteners-s/151.htmI think both are on eBay as well. Must be more too! YOu should measure the thread diameter and know the pitch, because they usually do not list motorbikes and scooters...but this stuff, while varied, is super common. Even here in Thailand, I can drop into a fastener shop and show them a sample...boom, done!

Thanks everyone. With your help I was able to get the right bolts and fasteners. Now if only I could find a place that shipped the correct plastics. So far I've received 2 floor panels that weren't correct and another place sent me a broken battery cover.

FWIW, you can purchase packages of screws and mumble... Tinnerman? flat flap fasteners to hold plastics in place on ali expresss. I have two pkgs of 10 each, 2 different lengths, for such use. I have not seen them available on in-country stores of any sort. tom

You can buy many styles of 'tinnerman' nuts here: www.fastenersuperstore.com/category/tinnerman-style-nutsMany of these can also be purchased at big hardware stores. The 'U' style is often used for scoot plastics and can be purchased here in the US at many scoot parts vendors. I have bought bags of them from John at NYC Scooter parts. They are not hard to obtain at all, even at big hardware stores. www.nycscooterparts.com/Home box stores are NOT hardware stores.
