Just got an email saying my Mikuni jet has just landed at Heathrow too so will give that a go when it comes.

Hey me again. Been experimenting with the scoot and I think I've the jetting pretty much nailed apart from a boowanggg and surge of RPMs off of idle when accelerating from a standstill. The bike really lacks power when it does this too. Do you guys have any clever ideas? I've tried putting the needle clip all the way down but it hasn't made a difference so could it be the idle mix, pilot jet, float height? Thank you.

brombra,if it.s running right I,d leave the engine alone and experiment with the CVT it.s surprising what changes you can make with the rollers and springs juggled around.
happy faffing

So do you reckon it may be something like the clutch not fully engaging or something because when I take off under full throttle the rpms surge and then as I keep accelerating they come back down again.

a good clean and service in the CVT is never wasted time, I use a variator locking tool and torque wrench on my baby. a new drive belt and a set of 6g rollers will give you the base line you need.Just swap one part at a time and take notes.
