I just bought a new Kymco Like 2t 2014 with only 108 miles. I removed all the restrictions of the exhaust, changed the sleeve of the variator and changed the original jet #70 to #82. I do not know if the original cdi has a restriction? It is an 8 pins
I want to leave the 49cc engine but I saw that the rollers of the variator are 8.3g! For the 49cc what weight for rollers is better? 6~7g??Thank you

Depends what rpm the motor likes. I would get a tuning set and experiment then buy a good set in the weight you need. Or buy a set of 5 and 6 them you could mix. 5. 5.5. 6. 6.6. 7.1 and 8.3. Use 3 of each weight and alternate back and forth. Should be able to get real close to what you need that way

I never seen a 49cc scooter with so many restrictions. I removed the 2 tubes of the exhaust and the ring at the entrance, installed a new Malossi variator with rollers 7g and the white spring and change the original main jet for a #82. The acceleration was little slow, looking at the entry of the air filter box and I see that it was very small... Luckily this restriction was just entered by pressure. Easy to remove ... Before i remove the airbox restriction, i hit 71 km/h (44mph)! Do you think the main jet #82 is big enough !?Thank's!

44mph is all your going to get out of it I have a 2t Honda that has a BBK and tuned pipe 5g rollers, racing clutch red springs even Contra Spring and that's all I can Hit so sounds like that's all you will get the air box ordeal wont make a bit of difference unless you upgrade the carb. I'm about to try a different pipe on my bike to get closer to 50 but I have larger wheels front is a 16 and back is a 14 about to upgrade rear tire to a larger size. 44mph out of a 50cc is as good as it gets and I'm surprised it does that most do 35 unrestricted even with a big bore kit 45 is usually top speed unless you spend big bucks then you can hit 50-60 that's 2t but luckily you have one.

I removed the restriction at the entrance of the air box and immediately felt that it was becoming lean with jet # 82. The original carburetor works much better with this restriction! Here a picture of my GPS with the top speed i hit, flat road and no wind and the scooter only have 112 Miles, break in not finish!
