45 degrees is steep, very steep. But I've seen ppl mount em up to about 45 degrees and (seem like) having a well running motor. But carbs aren't designed to be angled, they should be mounted perfectly horizontal. You need to adjust the float for sure, but thats just trial and error what works best in your case. Or you can buy a Mikuni TM28SS semi downdraft carb.

omg way too steep it will make it dump fuel everytime you pull the throttle some carbs can handle more angle than others I wouldn't want more than 20 degrees if that really, I tried a carb at a near 45 once and it was bad the intake was a waste of money. Good luck to ya like I said some carbs can handle angles more than others depends on the type of slide theres no way to tune a float to run a carb at a steep angle/

What carb, pwk? Some guys on here use em at extreme angles, but horizontal is best.

I guarantee that my carb is ran at or around 45 degrees. Needed a float adjustment for sure.

The idle(pilot)jet circuit is behind the slide, when the carb is tilted too far the fuel level constantly dribbles into the intake, making tuning difficult at best..Lowering the float level helps, but then at WOT the bowl can run dry, melting the piston...I run a short mandrel bent steel elbow to get the carb straight when needed,,yes, it increases the runner length, but the carb is level and safer for WOT operation..

Agreed! The float bowl must be level to ensure proper operation during uphill, downhill, sidehill driving. As others have described, you can get angle draft carbs. My Yamaha 850 has twin Lectrons that are severe down draft angled. They were over $2000 USD.
Buy or make a manifold as 190mech says...or try a diaphragm carb. Tillotson, Walbro, Vamec and clones. I am running a 16mm Walbro on my Honda...49cc old, but well sorted engine. Works super! Especially in high humidity, as i can tweak it effortlessly!
