I would start by checking gas flow as he said. If thats good i would stick a washer (or move the clip) under the needle to richen the part throttle mixture just to see if it gets better or worse. Thats something super easy to do. I think its set to run a lil rich from what i remember..

honestly unless you have some reason not to, I would ask the person who installed the bbk to check it out and see what they think. if it was theirork that caused the issue, they should be able to fix it and do it for free, but first rule out the simple things Also thanks for helping me out with your know how brother

it sounds like its either starving for fuel, or a momentary loss in spark. also make sure your spark plug wire is all good. I have had bad connections on one end or the other of the plug wire that caused the symptoms you are describing.

Sounds like the carb can't keep a supply of fuel. The fart sound is not getting gas.

I think back fire is a sign of it running too lean. If you or someone else installed a BBK, removed the PAIR system (hope you used a block off plate), new exhaust, and hi flow air filter, on a scooter that was running okay prior, you need to increase fuel to the motor. If you were running the stock carb that came with that 50cc, it is my understanding the jets in that are like 30 pilot and 72 main. Way too small for BBK, hi flow filter and exhaust. If you have a replacement 18mm carb, those usually come with 33 pilot and 85 main. Still too small. I am having the same trouble as you. I am trying to figure out the right jets and how to tune the carb. Of course, check for air leaks and replace any fuel lines. I know you said you were broke but if you can scrounge up $20, could get you new fuel line if needed and a pilot and main jet kit off Amazon. Take off the carb and remove the pilot and main jet. Don't remove the atomizer then get a magnifying glass and look for the numbers written on the jets. Look for videos on how to do it if you're not sure. It is just 3 screws on the bottom. And when you take it off, access to the jets is right there. No need to mess with the other screws or the top of the carb to check this. When you put the jets back in do not over tighten. The atomizers are below the jets, don't mess with that. Just use a standard screw driver to remove the jets. Or if you can see the number without removing them... that is cool too. I needed a magnifying glass and my replacement jets had the numbers written on the side not on the top.

Drain the float bowl into a glass container. Let the fuel sit for 5-10 minutes. Look for 'pearls' of water at the bottom. If you find such, that will explain the misfire. Cain't run on water. If no pearls, check the flow, opening the petcock by whaterver means, and catching the fuel flow in a jug. Check for full diameter flow, no drool or dribble. If you have that, then you may have some crud in the carburetor, which now and again plugs the jets, blocking fuel flow. If that's clean, check that you are not losing spark. It would feel as if someone turned the RUN=STOP switch to STOP and back quickly. tom

I just put a 47mm on mine and it does the same thing too. I have had this happen before with other scooters. The problem is the main jet. You need to go up or down a jet size. I am going to start going 1 size down to start. If I am wrong I will go 1 size above the current jet.

Have you tried adjusting the needle in your carb? If not, might I suggest raising it a hair or two?

If youve got good fuel and decent spark. Have you tried changing jets? I havent seen you say you have.
