Adjusting the needle did not help, tried all positions.

If you are using a vacuum operated fuel petcock it could be starting to go bad. Manual shut-off valves can be had for cheap at an auto parts store or at most home improvement stores in the lawnmower section.

I would have suggested checking fuel flow. A manual petcock is pretty reliable.
Fuel should flow from the fuel line, after the filter does its thing, full diameter of the i.d. of the line. If not, check for damaged line(they can fall apart internally), filter, and tank outlet blockage. If using a vacuum petcock, apply vacuum to see how well fuel flows. tom
