Why can't you make a 4 stoke a 2 stroke?
I was just watching those videos how a 2 stroke works, how a 4 stroke works.
If the bottom end is the same couldn't you just put in a 2 stroke jug/piston and head... carb etc etc then change something so the spark plug fires correctly for a 2 stroke?

No, fuel is sent under the piston at the intake and also help lubricate the crank. I would think a conversion would call for modifying the block.

Yep. That's it. And I'll try to elaborate just for the fun of it. We'll see how accurate I am.
A four stroke crank case will have some space for oil. In larger engines, there'll be a pump to move that oil around to the places it's needed. I would think in these smaller gy6 engines there would be no pump. The oil is just splashed by the action of the crank and connecting rods.
In a 2 stroke there is no liquid oil in that crankcase. The fuel that is to be burnt in the combustin chamber passes through there and the oil that's mixed into the fuel lubricates the crank and the piston walls and all the rest.
