I was wondering how much speed can I expect to pick up if I switch to the 49/17t Performance Final Drive Gears from the standard gears that come with the 49cc gy6? I have a 47mm BBK installed to give it more power but I am always riding at higher speed and it easily hits 9-10k rpm and I want to lower the riding rpm a bit while maintaining or increasing the speed.

Kid I sold one of my TaoTao that had the high gear in it got it up to 55mph, GPS confirmed. He is a skinny runt though, I'm sure that factors in.

Is there another gear ratio that would work better for top end? I do not want to lose all my acceleration but I can give up some of it.

I took out my 49/17 because it lowered my rpm too much. I was running a 47mm and a A9 cam. Switched to 11.05 Final gear ratio Primary 52/16 and secondary 51/15 and I am much happier with the results. Check your ratio before you switch. Stock can be 11:1 13:1 and just picked up a scoot that has 15.25:1 The 49/17 put me at 9:1 and I felt that a 47mm is too light to push that.
