So the shorty one was fun for a while especially when setting the idle low. blup blup blup blup. But it got old fast.
Any ideas on a good pipe that is quiet? I don't care about the color. But I would like a good fit.
Thanks

If you have access to a welder then an extra baffle inside a cherrybomb glasspack might could work? Or a silencer on a Briggs and Stratton muffler could be quieter. Or spend the same $90 on an aftermarket muffler.

I don't think there's a bolt on quiet performance exhaust. Loud is a selling point to a lot of buyers. If you found the right header, you could probably use a stock muffler with the 3 bolt flange. Same ones are used on 150s and 2Ts, so they should not restrict a bored 139QMB. May have to modify a performance header by having a matching flange welded on. Bonus there would be it would look stock when done if you like that idea. Could also need more effort for figuring out the mounts. Our member Frankenmech used a Walker muffler for a Honda Civic, but again that will take some adapting effort.
The main bolt on quiet muffler I know of is stock, but most don't want to use them with big heads and such because they tend to have small headers and some think they're restrictive. Prob varies a bit from pipe to pipe. You could try the stock one and see if it does change performance if modifying other pipes is not an option.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just going to keep it how it is after realizing it would probably stifle performance.

I remember seeing a youtube video that showed one having a nice 'thrum' sound to it. Not loud, but not quiet either. If you have heard a Jaguar straight six, or a V6 with a little sound to the exhaust, you'll know what 'thrum' means. tom
