Is it normal to have crank bearings fail. In the last year I’ve gone through two sets. I have a Peugeot Blaster running a 70cc kit with after market parts including the crank. The bike shop has been installing the crank & bearings for me but it’s getting abit frustrating. I did the tune up on the bike so I’m fairly sure I wasn’t running lean.

Usually crank bearings last a scooter life. Depending on the BBK grade some people swap the crank and add C3 or C4 bearings from popular makers like NTN or SKF. And those should last really long unless there is something wrong with the crank itself. There are a few guys here in the forum, me included, which use really strong racing cylinders and never had a bearing fail even at high rpms. What crank has been used in your build? Is the crank maybe out of true and therefore causing this? What crank bearings have been installed? Maker? Grade C3 or C4? Are you premixing oil and fuel or are you running the stock oil pump? Is enough fuel/oil getting to the bearings?

Bearings are NTN but don’t know what grade they were. The crank & a lot of other parts are Naraku. Running premix at around 30:1 ratio. I assume the fuel/oil is getting to the bearings. I’m only running to a max of 10,000 rpm so nothing too extreme.

Plenty of people who just tap it in with a hammer but that will destroy your bearing's in no time.. or just letting it drop 1 time also could be fatal for you crank. so i would say it isn't installed correctly and yeah scooter shops should know better but you never know who worked on it.
