I recently picked up a 125 buddy not running as a parts scooter. After picking it up, I realized it was not in as bad a shape as the owner initially thought. I am thinking it will be able to run and ride.
I do not have a key, aside from buying a new ignition, which i may have to do, is there a way to hotwire it just to see if it will crank? I don't really want to spend $100 on a new ignition if the scooter is in fact good for nothing. I need some confidence in it prior to spending money on parts. Any help would be appreciated.

Research to determine the CDI key-switch wire and disconnect. Check oil level on dipstick, verify fuel flow and spark, then kick-start. Stop engine by disconnecting trigger-coil wire. Add around 3 tablespoons of Iso-Heet when refilling gas.
