Someone installed any aftermarket shocks and can recommend one that actually feels like improvement over stock my weight 190LB i think and i tend to ride in the middle of seat or further most of the time.
My stock shock measures "bolt to bolt" 12"x1.5" (305mm x 38mm)
1. Whats the max and min height for shock i can use on GY6 frame, 1" longer or shorter should be okay?
2. Shocks for ATV / Quad / Go Kart are probably meant for heavier frames or okay for scooter?
Here's my choices so far, don't laugh

What frame of scooter is this? If its an atm50 i can help. If not...
Edit: the tallest shock that will fit an atm50 is 280mm. Leave just a little space between the tire and the ground with the center stand deployed.

Its 50cc, not sure what frame it is but 10" wheels pretty small, my stock rear shock is 305mm from eye to eye
I think i will go with RFY 320mm

You can go up and down a little bit. I went up about an inch. It doesnt handle any different that i can tell. I no longer scrape the center stand while turning, that was my goal.
If you want to know how tall you can go you can unbolt the shock and measure hole to hole how far down you can reasonably go.

Did not know adding an inch to rear shock will give more clearance under the center stand, will try to unbolt and see on my frame.
I experienced it scraping the ground when leaning to the left as well.

Something to keep in mind. Raising the rear of the scoot will alter the angle of the front forks. Making it slightly less stable. I cant tell a difference between my scoot with a taller shock and my wifes scoot with a stock shock.
For more information google front fork geometry.

On the grand scheme, the FORSA 280mm is pretty affordable. Anyway, for the money these shocks are really, really good. We've done a whole lot of testing with them on our bikes and they've never let us down. There's a picture of me jumping the piss out of a Ruckus to test the durability of these somewhere. I'll have to dig it up. Matt (edit) Found it. Just ignore the fact that I've got no gear on and my helmet is not cinched. This is way back in 2012 when I was dumb.
