So today I woke up and started my zuma II, no problem starting. I was on my way to work when it started giving me problems. It struggled to pull off at a stop but it happens sometimes when it's still cold. Then it started struggling to go to its max speed which is normally 35mph. It was only going at 25-28mph. It didnt seem normal. I ended up going back home for my truck but as I was going back home it started letting out little "psssh" sounds. I have no idea what's wrong. If anyone knows or have had the same issue please let me know what was wrong or what you did to fix. Thanks

Hi,it,s hard to solve over the web so you,ll have to help yourself a lot read/watch brents videos (access from the directory left of your screen). But don,t go poking and prodding around till you have a plan and a note book. This is the place for help and it.s good advice,First of all have you done any work to the scoot, have got wrenching skills, post a picture of your scoot and engine so we know what we are dealing with. That said most repairs are simple and cheap.First up is to check for anything loose.Keep us posted

I still see people sometimes get water and garbage in the gas especially when buying the cheapest fuel from those low volume no name gas stations. It happens. Also, if you park it outside, rain water and condensation can build up in the tank.
I've made a bunch of cash just draining the water out of peoples gas tank and getting fresh gas back to the carb.

I totally agree. I even made a gas cap cover from a small peanut butter jar (plastic) with four 1/4" holes drilled in the sides to allow air in but, hopefully, not rainwater. I used to get water in the gas tank through the vented cap (which has to be vented for gravity feed) from riding in the rain and once, even though my scoot is covered, from a torrential rainstorm. Since I added that cap cover, which just happens to screw down tight between the plastic surrounding the gas cap, I have had no more water in the gas issues. The way to tell is drain some fuel from the tank, if it is all cloudy then, you have water because of the alcohol in the fuel, it tires to mix as the alcohol absorbs the water...to a point. (I know Humanshield knows all this, I am posting for the benefit of the O.P.) Bill

Those leaking (pssh pssh) sounds could be a seal or gasket spitting air.
