Figure out why it's not hitting it and improvise something to make it work. I don't know if it's worth getting a new lever, but that's always an option. I'd think you could figure something out rather than get a new one.

Yeah, sounds like a plan. I'm going to get a friend to help though. Ultimately, because the other brake works, and they are basically always used in tandem, i could just disconnect the right brake from the light altogether, though i am loathe to do that unless there is no other option.

Replacement switches are available. Operate the brake switch multiple times, power on, to see if it operates the brake light bulb. Sometimes the switches just 'need the exercise'. Sometimes they need replacement. The sockets on these machines sometimes have bent contacts. When the bulb is inserted, and twisted to the 'lock' position, it may be that the contacts on the bottom of the socket do not touch the metal conductors. If so, either 'adjust' the contacts(bend them) to gain proper contact, or replace the socket. tom

Originally, i took the clasp off the handlebar itself to get a good look at the entire piece, before i realized where the brake-light button was. Then i could not seem to get it back on. And then last week i wasn't really able to get to it. Well, i finally got to it today, and had someone help me with it. As i was showing him how the throttle worked and then putting it back together, the grip separated from the piece that holds the accelerator cable: Ugh. It was cracked until now anyway, but i guess i gave it the final stress that broke it. Now i'm faced with buying a new one. I was thinking the right brake's harness/mount (whatever it is called) for it to should also be replaced because of the brake-light button not working, the brake cables look like they are thinning or unravelling, and the socket where the mirror screwed into is cracked.
