The manual on my scoot calls for between .026-.028 and I gap my plugs to .026.

Just changed my spark plug after about 2000-3000 KM and it was black and then white on top, also it died completely today, strange thing i had ignition wire fall apart that part that goes over spark plug was unscrewed and tip of ignition wire stayed on spark plug when i disconnected it.
Put ignition wire back together and new spark plug it works flawlessly again.
FYI cross reference of NGK 4629 (C7HSA) are
DENSO U22FS-U
CHAMPION Z10YC
AC S102F
AUTOLITE 2795
BOSCH U4BC
The manual on my scoot calls for between .026-.028 and I gap my plugs to .026. Bill IMO when dirt builds up on the spark plug gap will get even smaller, i could be wrong though.

My theory is that as the electrode burns away a little, and they do, the gap will get larger over time so, I start out on the low end. Plugs are cheap though so I change them before that happens anyway. Bill

what do you think of the colors of my spark plug, the usual ngk. It is after 50km with main jet 80 et idle jet is 33. i think the mixture screw is at 2,75 turn form the screwed position. THe scooter starts well and idles well in the morning. but it struggles to starts on battery in the hot afternoon and after several days where the fuel could have evaporated, even though there is fuel in the carb (since I use a manual petcock). With the kick, there is no problem. the tip of the ceramic appears white there is one pink side at the top of the ceramic the other side is yellow-green bellow then there is a brown ring, then a yellow-green ring
